Thanksgiving Camping Trip

It has been a while since we have had time to update our blog. We have spent most of our time documenting the hurricane damage and uploading videos to our youtube channel The Blue Riverhaus

We took a break from all of the chaos and spent the weekend at our off grid property. We were able to work on things up there as well which can be seen in some of our latest video updates but we also took time to relax and enjoy ourselves.

Every year for the holidays we take the leftovers and make a breakfast casserole (usually ham for Christmas). Since there were not any “leftovers” this year and we had some chicken sausage handy, we used that instead. You can check out the step by step here if you would like to make your own for the upcoming holidays!

On the way home we stopped at the Ergle Christmas Tree Farm near Brooksville, FL. There were trees as far as the eye could see with several options available to choose from. They off pre-cut trees from up north, trees you can cut yourself, and live potted trees to plant after the holidays. Since we have the land, we opted for a live potted tree and found a beautiful Carolina Sapphire Cypress. After Christmas we intend to plant it at our off-grid property to enjoy year round. If you are looking for a live potted tree, they are the only ones we could locate in the state of Florida.
